Why does my STP gross not calculate to the Payroll Summary gross taxable?

STP and Payroll Summary show the same payroll data in different ways. Payroll Summary shows one "Gross Taxable" total, while the STP report splits taxable payments across severtal STP categories. If PAYG tax matches between the two reports, the gross taxable figure often reconciles once the STP categories are calculated correctly.

How to compare the reports

Payroll Summary Gross Taxable should be compared against the relevant STP taxable payment fields:

+ OTE Gross

+ Bonus commissions

+ Directors fees

+ CDEP payments

+ Leave amounts

+ Allowance amoounts

+ Termination amounts

+ Lum Sum amounts

- Salary Sacrifice

= STP comparable taxable gross

My numbers are not lining up?

  • Check if any payment items have been STP classed as "SKIP". These items will increase the payroll summary, but won't increase the STP reports
